Les Amoureux de Shakespeare is a parody of A Midsummer Night’s Dream , a play written by William Shakespeare, made by the drama company « Les Mauvais Elèves ». It explains the love stories between 4 characters : Demetrius, Helena, Lysander and Hermia.

Hermia is in love with Lysander and Helena with Demetrius. At first, Demetrius and Lysander both love Hermia, and then, they love Helena.

At the beginning, we can see Helena and Demetrius arguing : Elena is declaring her love to him and as an answer, he shouts at her that he doesn’t love her and he wants her to leave him alone.

Meanwhile, Hermia and Lysander are in the woods... He wants to kiss Hermia but she doesn’t, so they sleep separately. During the night, Puck, a mischievous spirit, sprays Demetrius with a magical potion that makes people fall in love with the first person they see when they open their eyes, in order to punish him for his behavior towards Helena.

But Puck makes a mistake and sprays Lysander. When he sees Helena, he becomes crazy in love and sings love songs to her ! Then, Puck sprays Demetrius, who falls for Helena too. The two boys fight while Helena starts thinking everything is a joke on her. Hermia is really angry.

They all die in the fight and that is the end.

Among the dozen people who was present at the play, opinions were mixed. Some of them liked the beginning of the play, which was more fun and disliked the end, because the plot was too long to finish.
On the other hand, some of them disliked the beginning, because they found it more annoying with heavy jokes, and liked the end, because the jokes were funny. The final song is the only element which has pleased everyone.
